GVURL is an easy way to link from the web to Second Life. Clicking on a GVURL link on the web users to the Gridaverse maps which display a title, message and more you have selected, and it gives them a quick Teleport link to your location.
How do I create my own GVURL?This is very easy.
1. Go to the map
2. Open the Search tab (top left of screen) and click on the Sim link.
3. Enter the sim name you want and click on Search.
4. Click on the Sim Name link to select the search result. If there are lots of
results, click on “Slide show through results” to see each. When you click on a
result in Search, the map jumps to that location and places a bubble pointer.
5. Click on Create a GVURL on the top right of the bubble pointer.
6. You will see a Create GVURL window roll down the screen. Click Generate to create
a basic GVURL, or read below for details on each field and what you can add.
Alternative 1. Double click on your sim and take steps 5 onward from above.
What do all these different fields mean? (Remember, you can always click Preview
to see the effect on your results).
Sim Name - This is the name of the sim you want the GVURL to point to.
X Y Z - These three fields represent the location you would like the link to go to
on the sim listed above
Title - This will be displayed at the top of the popup bubble whenever someone
uses your GVURL link. They can click it to teleport to the location
Image - The Image will display on the left. You need to use full URL to the image,
almost any image size will work, but I suggest staying with something somewhat
small. Example would be http://Gridaverse.com/images/gridaverselogo128.png
Message - This is a message that can be displayed in the bubble. It can use html
as well.
iframe - By filling out this field it will display an iframe. The size is 128 by 256 and scrolling is enabled. You will want to use the full http path just like the image.
